Waihe’e Ridge Trail
~4.2 miles round-trip, moderate to hard.
This ridge hike climbs steadily through lush rainforest and open ridgelines, rewarding you with sweeping views of Waihe’e Valley, Makamakaole Falls, and the ocean. On clear days you can see both the coastline and the West Maui Mountains.


Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls
~3.4 miles round-trip, moderate.
Located in Haleakalā National Park (Kīpahulu District), this popular trail passes through a dramatic bamboo forest, past giant banyan trees, and ends at the breathtaking 400-foot Waimoku Falls. The trail is well-maintained but can be muddy after rain.


Kapalua Coastal Trail
~1.76 miles one way, easy.
A gentle, scenic walk along Maui’s northwest shore. You’ll stroll across boardwalks, beaches, and lava rock paths while enjoying ocean breezes, tidepools, and panoramic views. Perfect for sunrise or sunset.


Hoapili Trail
~3.4 miles, moderate.
Description: A rugged coastal trail across jagged lava fields at the southern tip of Maui. You’ll see sea arches, tidepools, ancient Hawaiian ruins, and possibly spot dolphins or sea turtles offshore. Bring sturdy shoes, as the terrain is sharp and uneven.


Halemau‘u Trail
7–11 miles depending on route, strenuous.
This dramatic trail descends into the Haleakalā crater, offering surreal volcanic scenery, colorful cinder cones, and sweeping valley views. The elevation can make it chilly, so pack layers. Great for those wanting a true high-altitude adventure.

ʻĪao Needle Trail
