West Maui Beaches

Kaanapali Beach
Once the playground of Hawaiian royalty, Kaanapali is now a bustling stretch lined with luxury resorts, restaurants, and a beachfront boardwalk. The golden sand and crystal-clear water are perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, or just lounging with a drink in hand. Black Rock at the north end is a hotspot for cliff diving and snorkeling, especially during sunset when the torch lighting ceremony kicks off.

Napili Bay
This crescent-shaped bay is a peaceful retreat nestled between low-key condos and lush landscaping. Napili is known for its gentle waves, making it a go-to spot for families and couples looking for a relaxing beach day. The reef near the rocks draws in colorful fish and sea turtles, so bring your snorkel gear. Mornings are calmest, and the soft sand makes it easy to settle in for hours.

Kapalua Bay
Often ranked among the top beaches in the world, Kapalua Bay is a protected cove with lava rock arms that create calm, swimmable water year-round. It's one of the best places on the island for snorkeling thanks to the thriving reef just offshore. The beach itself is small but incredibly scenic, with palm trees lining the edge and clear visibility in the water. Great for kids, couples, and first-timers to Maui.
